the scarab's setting is a slightly rosier hue than the yellow gold signet it's mounted to

the scarab was mounted to the signet using a laser soldering technique from the underside of the signet, which means there isn't solder sealing the seam between the scarab's setting and the signet — the leaves a tiny gap that can snag hairs, unfortunately.

there is some minor chipping to the scarab's head

it appears that this scarab was once a bead as there's a hole drilled that goes through it from north to south
